“ I go, maybe, 3 times a year. Why? The food is sooooo rich and wonderful. Some of the sides are a gamble, as not everyone would like the same thing, but overall, excellent. Personal greetings by the knowledgeable meat cutter. The meat, no matter what you choose, is always and maintaining in that status each visit. Friendly servers and comfortable dining area add to this. I'm not a bbq/meat critic but if I could, I'd give an award. ”
“ My friends and I really enjoyed this BBQ place. The staff were really friendly and everything was delicious and reasonably priced. The BBQ was good, but all three of us absolutely loved the rolls. “ I drive all over TX and eat BBQ almost every weekend in a different town, and this place is now in my top 3 for BBQ. For around 15 I had a 3 meat plate (I got brisket, ribs, and sausage). First off, the BBQ sausage I believe is the best I've ever had. The ribs were cooked just right and had a slight smoke flavor to them, not overpowering the meat at all. The brisket had a great texture, not dry at all (I have had juicier brisket, but no complaints here). Personally, I like a little more seasoning on brisket and ribs, but understand that not everyone does. My sides were beans and potato salad. The potato salad was exactly what I look for, mustard based, not overly sweetened, and just the right amount of chunks. When the man behind the counter asked what sauce I wanted, I asked him if it really needed sauce. He said he would put it in a cup on the side and recommended a mix of the spicy and regular. It was a perfect suggestion. In my opinion, nothing really needed sauce, but the sauce was.dang good and I ended up using it anyways. The pepper sauce on the table was outstanding too. Atmosphere was exactly what I look for in a BBQ joint. Wood outside, not too big, and fitting music playing inside. Every member of the staff that I spoke to was friendly. Tables were clean. Bathrooms were clean. And to top it all of, a member of the staff came by regularly checking on me and offering fresh rolls. I will be back next time.I am in the area. ”
“ Being an original West Texas girl where mesquite is abundant, I'm thrilled to have a place to go that smokes their meat with mesquite! I drive about 25 miles to eat here. All the meats are good, including the hot links. Love to combine chopped brisket with the hot links on a sandwich. Love the spicy sauce. The sides are standard bbq fare. The hot rolls, baked in-house and delivered to the table throughout the meal, are also delicious, and I always end my meal with a fresh, hot, buttered roll drizzled in honey. One of my fave BBQ joints! ”
“ This is hands down 2nd place on my best ever BBQ places in the US now. Had a small plate of Brisket and Ribs. Everything was sooooo good. The meat the sauce, the sides, the warm bun. Felt very welcome and service was great. Nice interior as well. And outside in the back of the house you see the pit doing it's work. If you're ever in the area. Take the detour! It is so worth it. ”
“ This is the classic "main street bbq" place. I ate there on a Friday and the line was already 15 people deep. I went basic with a sliced brisket and sausage plate with double beans as a side. I could have eaten a second plating. The lady coming around with the rolls does a good job making sure seated guests are taken care of. I will definitely stop in for a meal next time I am in Bridgeport. ”
